What's a Random Fact That Blew Your Mind? - Esperanza963 - 07-04-2025 Let’s get weirdly educational for a moment. I was casually scrolling the internet the other day when I found out that octopuses have three hearts and their blood is blue. Blue. Not poetic "blue" literally blue. Two hearts pump blood to the gills, and the third pumps it to the rest of the body. And when they swim, that third heart actually stops beating. How do they even survive like that? Honestly, this little fact completely rewired my brain for a few minutes. So now I’m curious what’s a random fact you came across that totally blew your mind? Let’s learn something strange together. RE: What's a Random Fact That Blew Your Mind? - majiwet204 - 07-04-2025 Okay, that octopus fact is wild three hearts and blue blood? Nature is seriously out here flexing. Here’s one that totally messed with my head: Bananas are berries, but strawberries aren't. Yeah. Let that sink in for a sec. Botanically speaking, a berry has to come from a single ovary and have multiple seeds inside. So by that logic, bananas, kiwis, and even eggplants count as berries. But strawberries? Nope they come from a flower with multiple ovaries, so technically they’re "aggregate fruits." I read that once and had to reevaluate everything I thought I knew about fruit. Keep the weird facts coming this is oddly refreshing RE: What's a Random Fact That Blew Your Mind? - rotiy91464 - 07-07-2025 Here’s a random fact that short-circuited my brain: Wombat poop is cube-shaped. Not kidding. Perfect little cubes. Apparently, it's due to the way their intestines contract super slowly and unevenly which shapes the poop into cubes without squishing it |
