Botanically speaking, a berry has to come from a single ovary and have multiple seeds inside. So by that logic, bananas, kiwis, and even eggplants count as berries. But strawberries? Nope they come from a flower with multiple ovaries, so technically they’re "aggregate fruits."

I read that once and had to reevaluate everything I thought I knew about fruit.
